Samantha “Sam” is a life long resident of Berrien County and a member of the St Joseph Benton Harbor Elks Lodge since 2006. She has been the Secretary for the Ray Carlson Memorial since 2005, and holds the position of Lodge Secretary since 2007. Sam is very grateful to be able to volunteer for such a great local charity.
Founder and Chairman
Craig is a life long resident of the City of St. Joseph, MI. He has been working on the Ray Carlson Memorial since it’s inception in 1992. The memorial is dedicated to Craig’s father, the namesake of this organization. Read more about Craig’s story here.
Beverage and Raffle
Karri is a life long resident of Southwest Michigan and absolutely loves this community. She has worked as the Elks bar manager for 11 years and volunteered for the Ray Carlson Memorial for 8 of those. Karri is proud to be a part of such a wonderful charity helping families in Berrien County.
Jennifer has lived in St. Joseph, MI since 1998. She has two beautiful children, Hailey and Archer, and is married to James Mawhinney. She is an Assistant Manager and Bartender at the Boulevard Inn and Bistro. Jennifer has volunteered for the Ray Carlson Memorial for many years, concentrating on volunteer coordinating, recruiting and seeking out new volunteers and donors. She is very proud to be part of such an ambitious and giving event.
Ryan & Kathrn Goodin
Ryan and wife Kathryn have been members of the St. Joseph Benton Harbor Elks since 2010. Their daughter Evelyn has been their inspiration for contributing to the Elk’s, The Ray Carlson Memorial, and the community where they’ve made their home.
Larry has spent the majority of his life in Southwest Michigan. He is an IBEW Electrician with hobbies that include stained glass art, building high-powered model rockets and cooking. Larry is married to Stacy Kingman, the father of Andrea and Spencer Kingman, and the stepfather of Bryce Barfell Collins and Emma Young.
Event Financial Assistant
Stacy was born and raised in South West Michigan and is a Coloma schools graduate, and contributes to a number of local charities. In her professional life, Stacy manages group homes for special needs adults, provides direct care, manages their finances, and much more. She is married to Larry Kingman, is the mother of Bryce Barfell Collins and Emma Young, and a step mom to Spencer and Andrea Kingman. Stacy is proud to be a part of this incredible cause.
George has worked with special needs children for 42 years, and has worked with the Ray Carlson Memorial since it’s inception. Married 34 years to Suzanne, with two children Joshua & Nicholas. George is a retired Musician and Hazmat specialist. He has been a member of Elks Lodge #541 for 30 years, and holds the titles of PDDGER /PER, and PMP Commissioner.
Social Media Director
Melissa is a life long resident of southwest Michigan. She has two beautiful daughters, Harper (5), and Hattie (3). Melissa enjoys volunteering throughout the community, and is honored to be a part of the Ray Carlson Memorial.
